Good Years

directed by Sophiyaa Nayar*

About

In this cyber coming-of-age story, Good Years is the story of five teenage girls who congregate regularly on the holy steps of twitter.com as OG One Direction stan accounts; however, the girls’ fandom gradually devolves into righteous fanaticism. Being One Direction fans exposes the girls to their first confrontations with racism, classism, and overt sexism. Through the setting of One Direction Twitter™, this play explores the Internet’s role in creating, destroying and altering conceptions of community and intimate bonds.
