Definition’s educational programming is centered around making the arts accessible to the next generation on and off the stage. Curriculum is designed to increase empathy and the art of collaboration while learning to appreciate diversity of approach, style, and perspective. Definition offers various engagement opportunities through workshops, mentoring, and job shadowing throughout each season. By Design Apprenticeship
As a paid program for high school and college students, the By Design Apprenticeship provides the opportunity to shadow production team members during Definition’s production season. Apprentices will experience the creative process of a production from inception to execution. Learn more about this hands-on experience for emerging artists.

Definition Innovator Small Business Cohort
Definition Theatre, 37 Oaks, and Promise Holdings LLC are partnering to provide space, resources, educational commerce courses, and capital for Black and Brown entrepreneurs on the South and West Side of Chicago. Learn more about the complimentary three-month program.

Wadsworth Elementary Holiday Gift Giveaway
Amidst financial hardships, health concerns, and the challenges of remote schooling, we launched the Gift Giveaway in 2020 to support our community’s youth. Our mission is to bring joy to children on the side of the city where young people are often overlooked— ensuring they feel seen, heard, and valued.
